National Parks Everyone Should See

by Megan McCullough |

Exploring national parks is one of the best ways to see some incredible scenery and exploring a different side of a country. Whether you are discovering your own country or a new one, national parks should be at the top of your list of places to check out. Whether you are traveling abroad or staying in the country you call home, the following list is going to go over a few of the best parks in the world.

Yellowstone National Park

Located in Wyoming and extending into Montana, this Instagram worthy park is known globally for its geothermal features and vicious grizzly bears. This park was the very first national park in the United States. Its massive lakes, rivers, mountains and stunning canyons that make this park a must see.

Banff National Park

This incredible Canadian park is actually the oldest national park in Canada. With 6,641 square km to explore and snow covered mountains to take your breath away, you’ll want to build a cabin so you can enjoy it every day. Grizzly bears, elk, wolverine, and moose are just some of the wildlife you will be able to catch a glimpse of while you are breathing in the amazing mountain air.

Galapagos National Park

Located in the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is widely known as one of the best national parks in the world. The incredible historical site was where Darwin first studied finches and led to the Darwin Theory of Natural Selection and Speciation. Marine iguanas, white tip reef sharks, and gigantic Galapagos tortoises are just some of the animals that you can see while you are there.

Manas National Park

This UNESCO World Heritage Site isn't just a national park, it is also an elephant and tiger reserve, along with being one of the wildest national parks in the world. This means that you are going to see a lot of wildlife when you are cruising the vast forests, rivers, and mountains. Think slow lorises, black panthers, Indian tigers, and Indian elephants -  those aren't even half of the species you will see here. This is one park that should definitely be put on your bucket list for the future.

The best part about national parks is that you can interact with nature without doing damage to it. You can appreciate what this Earth has to offer and not actually interfere with anything in the park to change the atmosphere. When you go to these parks, really drink in everything being offered to you and realize that this planet needs to be taken care.
