Ground Yourself

The term "grounded" gets thrown around a lot, but people don’t really know what it means or what it can do for your mental state. Humans are really susceptible to absorbing negative energy from other people, and even from the environment, and they let it affect their everyday lives. A lot of the time people don't even realize that they are letting this toxic energy completely consume their lives and end up feeling spacey, their intuition will be off and have a very hard time making decisions. Getting back to nature and connecting with Mother Earth again is the best way to really get back to a state of well being.

One way of grounding yourself is by planting your feet flat on the floor, or better yet, go outside and get your toes between the grass and visualize roots growing from the bottom of your feet into the earth. Imagine them growing as deep as your intuition tells you and even envision a root growing from the base of your spine into the earth; this will connect your root chakra to the earth and help you feel even more centered. Firmly plant the roots in the earth or envision them wrapping around a rock deep in the earth if it helps you feel more anchored. Send all of the negativity you feel shooting down those roots into the earth and either out loud or in your head ask Mother Earth to take care of the negative debris you are sending downwards out of your body.

The next step is to visualize light moving up through the roots in your feet (and root chakra if you visualized it). Your intuition will naturally pick a color for the light, go with that color because it is what energy your body and mind need at the time. Let the light move up through your body and fill up every inch of your body through your chakras and envision branches growing out through the top of your head. Next, picture a white light from the Sun and Moon moving down through the branches in the top of your head into your crown chakra and and say either out loud ,or in your head, that you are now being healed and protected by white light and move that white light down through your body filling every nook and cranny.

There are several ways that you can ground yourself and this example is one that you should use when you are feeling particularly out of sync. The easiest way to ground yourself is by simply going outside and walking around barefoot, you will be surprised how therapeutic it can be just getting your feet into grass or soil again and becoming one with the earth. Whichever way you choose to center yourself again, we hope you feel relief and grounded once again.
